Art Basel 2017: Swizz Beatz Promotes Emerging Artists at “No Commission” Exhibition; 2Chainz, Lil’ Wayne, A$AP Rocky Perform (VIDEO/PHOTOS)

Forever committed to the arts, Grammy-winning producer Swizz Beatz recently brought his “No Commission” art exhibition to Miami for the 2017 Art Basel art fair.

The three-day art exhibition showcased about 30 artists from around the world, in addition to featuring musical performances and discussion panels.

Held at Soho Studios in Miami’s Wynwood section, the “No Commission” exhibition was a collaboration between Bacardi and The Dean Collection. The show allows its featured artists to reap all the proceeds from the art they sell – hence its name “No Commission.”

The “No Commission” art exhibition was started by Swizz in 2015 as a way to promote modern artwork and artists. The show has traveled to such cities globally as New York, London, Shanghi and Berlin.

This year’s exhibition focused on the theme “Island Might,” which celebrates the strength and vitality of the Caribbean, while examining family and “the intersection of land and sea, ritual, revolution and color.”

Among the artists featured during the “No Commission” exhibition include Kehinde Wiley, Derrick Adams, Renee Cox, Nadine Ijewere and Karyn Oliver.

The “No Comission” experience also featured musical performances from some of today’s biggest hip-hop artists of today, including 2Chainz, Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, Busta Rhymes, Chronixx and DJ Khaled.

There was also a panel discussion on social responsibility that included creative designer Virgil Abloh, who was joined on the panel by Swizz Beatz, Kimberly Drew, Nora Khanand Carmen and Aguilar Y Wedge. The panelists discussed such topics as social responsibility, the impact of social media, corporate accountability and the role creatives in today’s culture.

A number of celebrities also attended the exhibition, including LaLa Anthony, Michael B. Jordan, Issa Rae, Rosario Dawson and Shawn Marion.
