Jason Derulo Takes Bold Step in Fashion with Rollout of LVL XIII Fall/Winter Collection

Singer Jason Derulo recently took his love of fashion to the next level with the rollout of his luxury urban menswear line LVL XIII (pronounced Level 13) at Bloomingdale’s in LA.

Hundreds of fans and fashionistos were in attendance at the Westfield Century City Mall to greet the 26 year-old superstar, and to hear the concept behind LVL XIII’s fashions, which were created by Atlanta designer Antonio Brown.

LVL XIII’s fall/winter collection is described by Brown as “transformative,” as it features such fashion-forward items as a bomber jacket that turns into a backpack, a nylon rain coat with a removeable hood and a rain parka that doubles as a jacket.

Since its launch in 2013, LVL XIII has been known to push the boundaries while maintaining its futuristic looks and signature embellishments. Pieces in the collection are handcrafted by Italian artisians and dedicated to quality.

LVL XIII’s fall/winter collection will be sold, initially, exclusively at Bloomingdale’s and on its website. The apparel ranges from $150 for a color-blocked T-shirt to $900 for the leather convertible jacket-backpack. The collection’s footwear ranges from $700-$900.

Derulo is not only the face of the label, which relaunched in July, he is also an investor along with his manager Frank Harris. Derulo’s partnership with Brown formed after he wore a pair of LVL XIII shoes on “Good Morning America.”

Now he wears the label during stage appearances and visuals, including his recently released video for “Swalla” where he wears an ombre rain poncho and a convertible bomber jacket/backpack.

At the Bloomingdale’s in-store event in LA, Derulo discussed the comfortability that LVL XIII’s clothing offers.

“Everybody likes to feel like they can move if they need to move and not necessarily when they just dance,” he said. “These pants, shirts and materials are very giving.”

Derulo and Brown will continue to rollout the collection throughout the month with in-store appearances at Bloomingdale’s Aventura store in Miami on Oct. 18 and at Bloomingdale’s at Atlanta’s Lenox Mall on Oct. 25.
