(PHOTOS) Entertainers, Influencers and Media Get Hype for 2019 BET Awards at Nominations Reception in LA

The nominees for the 2019 BET Awards were announced in grand style recently in LA at a reception attended by entertainers, influencers and media.

Held at the Indigo Hotel in downtown LA, the event gave the select crowd the opportunity to instantly react to this year’s nominees, which were led by Cardi B who scored seven nominations, including “Best Female Hip Hop Artist, “Best Collaboration” and “Album of the Year.”

The event was hosted by social media star Kendall Kyndall, who interacted with guests about their favorites to win in certain categories. Among the guests were Karen Civil, Affion Crockett, Sarunus J. Jackson, Woody McClain and MITCH.

Nominations are selected by BET’s Voting Academy, a group comprised of fans and entertainment professionals in the fields of television, film, music, social media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations and the creative arts.

“This year we are even more so committed to continuing to create the unforgettable moments that have made the BET Awards the preeminent celebration of black culture,” Connie Orlando, Executive Vice President, Head of Programming at BET said in a statement.

The 19^th  BET Awards takes place June 23 at 8 p.m. across seven Viacom networks, including BET, BET HER, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Classic, VH1, and Logo.
