21 Savage Shines as First-Time Tour Headliner at House of Blues in Anaheim
Rising Atlanta rapper 21 Savage and his ISSA Tour recently pulled up to the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA, joined by some of his East Atlanta friends, including Young Nudy, for a memorable performance.
21 treated the crowd to full versions of many of his most popular songs, including “No Heart,” “Mad High,” “Dip-Dip” and “X.” He also performed a cover of Drake’s “Sneakin,” his “21 Way” freestyle and his verse on Young Nudy’s “EA.”
Although this is 21 Savage’s first headlining tour, he performed as if he was a seasoned headlining veteran, with his commanding stage presence and hypnotic rhymes, which he often performed a cappella. He even changed some of his lyrics to drop references to Anaheim, which drove the crowd wild.
Known primarily for his popular mixtapes “The Slaughter Tape” and “Slaughter King,” 21 bursted on the national scene last summer with the release of his joint EP, Savage Mode, which he created with Atlanta-based producer Metro Boomin. The EP received international attention and peaked at number 44 on the Billboard charts thanks in part to his single “X,” which featured Future and went platinum. Earlier this year, 21 Savage announced that he had signed to Epic Records.
Joining 21 on his 29-stop tour are hip-hop newcomers Young M.A, Tee Grizzley and Young Nudy. The tour is sponsored by Monster Energy’s Outbreak Tour.
21 Savage’s headliner spot comes just months after he opened for Young Thug on last fall’s HiHORSE’D Tour.
