The premiere episode of the second season of OWN’s “Queen Sugar” drew 2.3 million total viewers, making it the night’s number two cable telecast for women and number one with women in its time slot, according to Nielsen data.
Fans of the Ava DuVernay-produced family drama have been addicted to all the plot twists in season two. Charley, played by Dawn-Lyen Gardner, who has relocated to Saint Josephine, Louisiana to help run the family business, has become the only black female sugarcane mill owner. This season, Charley is fighting to regain her independence while rebuilding her relationships with her siblings.
