(PHOTOS) Friends, Family and Peers Throw BJ The Chicago Kid a Surprise Birthday Party in LA
Grammy-nominated singer BJ The Chicago Kid got the surprise of a lifetime recently when his family, friends and music industry peers gathered in LA to celebrate his 33rd birthday.
Held in the Spare Room inside the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel, the party brought out a number of celebrities and media personalities, including R&B singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger and his wife, La’Myia Good from E!’s “The Platinum Life, “ as well as Revolt TV host DJ Damage.
BJ The Chicago Kid, who grew up on the south side of Chicago but now lives in LA, was totally surprised by the crowd and many familiar faces when he entered. He later thank everyone in attendance on Facebook, saying “Y’all got me real good and I couldn’t be more happy and grateful.”
Guests participated in bowling matches as well as played games of Jenga, while sipping cocktails provided by Ciroc.
Since beginning his career as a background vocalist, BJ has become one of the most sought-after R&B singers, appearing on collaborations with such artists as Chance The Rapper, Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre, and performing at the presidential farewell ceremony for Barack Obama in Chicago.
