Lil’ Mosey Drops Video For New Hip-Hop Anthem ‘THUG POPSTAR’
Today, multi-platinum artist Lil Mosey dropped a new music video for his newly released hip-hop anthem “Thug Popstar”. The video builds on the momentum Lil Mosey is currently generating with the release of the first three singles from his highly anticipated EP, slated to be released this spring. It’s also the first official music video Lil Mosey has released since last year’s “Flu Game” video.
On “Thug Popstar”, Lil Mosey rhymes about both sides of a music superstar’s life – from the luxury vehicles and expensive jewelry to the pitfalls of drug abuse and fake friends. “Thug Popstar is a look into my life and daily emotions – some positive and some negative,“ said Lil Mosey. “Thug Popstar means the best of both worlds.” LISTEN HERE
The music video for “Thug Popstar” reflects the popstar lifestyle Lil Mosey speaks of on the song. It also features elements of his style and “drip”, including diamond jewelry by Peter Marco that is valued at more than $300k.
“In the video I wanted to give my fans a glimpse of the glitz they have come to expect from me to add balance to the song/video, which also covers the downside of the music business,” Lil Mosey said.
In a matter of weeks, Lil Mosey has made a fierce comeback by releasing a steady stream of critically acclaimed singles, including “Back Down Road” – which Hype Magazine said “brings us back to the roots of hip-hop with those catchy beats and killer wordplay that we all know and love from Lil Mosey. He’s really reminding us why he’s one of the ones to watch in the game right now.” The first single released from the EP, “Life Goes On”, was heralded by Uproxx as one of the “Best of the Week” – “with its somber, reflective lyrics and grunge-rock leanings, is a nod toward the growing up he’s had to do in such a short time.”
