Lil’ Wayne Gets Personal with Fans, Reps Roc Nation at the House of Blues in Anaheim
Fans of Lil Wayne were recently treated to a personal and intimate show at the House of Blues in Anaheim that featured some of the rap superstar’s best songs and lyrics.
From “Back That Azz Up” to “Lollipop” to “A Milli,” Lil Wayne was in full-form, hitting on some the best lyrics of the New Orleans native’s 20-plus year career. Lil Wayne also performed some of his most recent features, including his verse on Chance the Rapper’s “No Problem” and the Nicki Minaj collaboration “No Frauds.”
He closed the show with “No Worries,” which is off his 2012 I Am Not a Human Being II album. Before he left the stage, Lil Wayne shouted out “Roc Nation,” further inflaming rumors that he has signed with Jay-Z’s label.
It is still unclear whether or not Lil Wayne has officially signed some type of deal with Roc Nation, as he’s still engaged in a legal battle with Cash Money Records, who Wayne sued in 2015 for unpaid royalties and to be let out of his contract.
Lil Wayne alluded to both his legal and financial woes during the concert, seemingly using his challenges as motivation to succeed to even new heights. His candid conversation with his fans showed the growth of Lil Wayne, as did the memorable songs he performed throughout the evening.
The House of Blues Anaheim show was one of the stops on his 12-show Kloser 2 U Tour, which rolls into Atlanta on May 8, Grand Rapids, MI on May 10th, before concluding May 11 in Detroit.
