Nas Launches Ghostbusters-inspired Eyewear Collection in New York
Last night in New York, hip-hop legend/mogul Nas presented the eyewear component of his Nas x Ghostbusters collection, a partnership with Sony Pictures on fashion items inspired by the Ghostbusters movie franchise, which is slated to release a remake of the original 1984 film in July.
For the eyewear collection, Nas partnered with Italian design company Italia Independent to create several Ghostbusters-inspired sunglasses, which were on display at the launch event at the brand’s boutique in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood.
Last week, Nas launched the entire Ghostbusters collection at the Ron Herman store on Melrose in Los Angeles. That event featured such items as a desert camo, a canvas jumpsuit inspired by the suits Ghostbusters uniforms, in addition to bikes and headphones inspired by the movie.
The Italia Independent/Nas x Ghostbusters collaboration includes Italia Independent’s iconic models and oversize classical frames. The collection also offers classic shapes with Ghostbusters-inspired digital printed patterns decorated with the iconic Ghostbusters logo. The line will be sold at Italia Independent boutiques in New York, Paris, Miami, Milan.
Joining Nas at the Italia Independent launch were actors Malik Yoda (Empire, New York Undercover), Omari Hardwick (Power), pop singer Jackson Harris, radio personality Angela Yee, former G-Unit Marketing Director Lenny Hernandez, style blogger Claire Sulmers and street artist Bradley Theodore.
