Ne-Yo, Trey Songz and More Support Positivity Movement at Good Brother Dinner in LA
In a culture that’s saturated with negativity, a new organization called Good Brother aims to display and integrate positive messaging on clothing, in music, movies and art in hopes that people will “pay it forward” and help the next generation.
Founded by Jayvon Smith and John Rich, who both have long histories of doing business in the fashion and music industry, the Good Brother initiative focuses on reaching the millions of people around the world that are “caught up in unproductive culture.”
“Good Brother is working to show people to pay it forward,” says Jayvon Smith, Co-founder of Good Brother. “Good Brother spreads a positive message that instills good moral values and core values into the minds and hearts of the people that see our clothing and hear the music our artists release.”
John Rich, Good Brother’s co-founder said he will focus on signing artists with positive messages and on releasing clothing with positive images to “offset the current negative narrative that plagues our culture and our industry today.”
“If we don’t do something about the narrative in the culture then we will lose an alarming amount of our youth to senseless murders, drug overdoses, and life sentences in prison.”
“The culture today is saturated with negativity,” says John Rich, Co-founder of Good Brother. “We are signing positive artist and releasing positive music and clothing to Somebody’s has to do it, so we’re doing it,” Rich says.
To celebrate those making a positive impact on the culture, Good Brother recently honored Danny Victor, Jayvon Smith, and actors Kevin Phillips, Cory Hardrict, and Elijah Kelley at a sit-down dinner held at Delilah in West Hollywood.
Hosted by Ne-Yo and Trey Songz, the event was sponsored by Hennessy and brought together a number of “Good Brothers” for a night of reflection and celebration.
