(PHOTOS) Hip-Hop Stars and Powerbrokers Do It for the Culture at Revolt Summit in LA
Thousands of artists, managers, media and entrepreneurs recently came together for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Revolt Summit in LA, which featured a series of panels, VIP receptions, live performances, job fair and other sessions designed to inform and connect and people in entertainment.
Held at Magic Box in downtown LA, the Revolt Summit brought out some of the top celebrities in the music, film and television industries for in-depth panel discussions that covered a range of topics, including today’s hip-hop, politics, sports, and the culture overall.
Among the highlights included a “fireside chat” between Combs, who is Revolt Media and TV’s Chairman, and Vince Staples, who discussed, among other topics, the direction of hip-hop today.
In one of several panels focusing on West Coast rap, SZA, Jay Rock joined Snoop Dogg for an in-depth conversation about the LA-based Top Dawg Entertainment that covered how the label rose to prominence. Another panel featured LA-natives Ty Dolla $ign and Mustard, who were led in conversation by radio personality Big Boy.
The Revolt Summit in LA covered a broad range of topics, including sports. One jam-packed panel featured Stephen A. Smith moderating a conversation between superagent Rich Paul and actor/mogul Ice Cube.
Other celebrities that sat on panels included Issa Rae, Fat Joe, Too Short, Remy Ma, who joined Joe Budden and other for a live taping of their Revolt show “The State of the Culture”
Revolt Summit attendees were also treated to a host of music performances from such artists as OT Genesis, SiR, Eric Bellinger, Roddy Ricch, Saweetie, Kamaiyah and Stefflon Don.
Co-presented by AT&T, the Revolt Summit also featured a voter registration sign-up booth, a job fair featuring on-site interviews, and several VIP Receptions.
The LA summit is the third of the recently successful Revolt Summit events in New York and Atlanta.
