(PHOTOS) Anthony Anderson, Marsai Martin, Storm Reid, Bobby Brown and More Attend Ladylike Foundation Women of Excellence Awards and Fashion Show
Educating, empowering and inspiring young girls from inner city Los Angeles is the mission of the Ladylike Foundation, which recently held its star-studded annual Ladylike Foundation Women of Excellence Awards and Fashion Show.
Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the event raised funds for the Ladylike Foundation, which this year honored Anita Castille of the Aids Healthcare Foundation; actress/producer Marsai Martin and makeup entrepreneur Rea Ann Silva.
The honorees were each recognized for the impact they have made in their communities, and for the inspiration and encouragement they have provided to young women.
Nishelle Turner of “Entertainment Tonight” hosted the event, which also featured a live auction and a children’s fashion show. Leah Pump, president and CEO of the LadyLike Foundation, in her sober remarks called for a moment of silence for the late Kim Porter, who was big supporter of the organization.
The LadyLike Foundation is a faith-based non-profit 501c3 organization whose purpose is to educate, empower, and inspire young ladies living in underprivileged communities. Through cutting edge research programs, workshops, mentorships, community service projects and visual/performing arts young women ages 12 – 18 are challenged to reach their highest potential and become the successful well-rounded LADY they were created to be.
Many celebrities, including past honorees, were in attendance at the awards, including Anthony Anderson, Bobby Brown, Storm Reid, Gabrielle Nevaeh Green, Cookie Johnson, Simone Smith, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Bre-Z and more.
