The cast and producers of “Till” was out in full force recently to screen the acclaimed film for an exclusive audience in LA.
Held at the The Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, cast members Danielle Deadwyler, Jalyn Hall, Sean Patrick Thomas, Frankie Faison and John Douglass Thompson joined director Chinonye Chukwu on the black carpet at the screening for photos and interviews.
“Till,” which also stars Whoopi Goldberg and Haley Bennett, premiered earlier this month at the New York and London Film Festivals to rave reviews.
Currently in theaters in five markets, including New York, LA, Chicago and Atlanta, “Till” opens nationwide Oct. 28 and is already generating Oscar buzz for Deadwyler, who gives a gripping performance as Mamie Till-Mobley, Emmett Till’s mother.
The movie retells the tragic story of Till – a 14 year-old who was kidnapped and killed in Mississippi for allegedly whistling at a white woman – through the perspective of his mother, who later became a prominent civil rights activist.
