The achievements and goals of women of all ages were recently celebrated at the 11th annual LadyLike Foundation Women of Excellence Luncheon, which this year honored actress Storm Reid, singer Jordin Sparks, Carrie O’dell and Marjorie Harvey, the wife of Steve Harvey.

The honorees were each recognized for the impact they have made in their communities, and for the inspiration and encouragement they have provided to young women.

Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the event raised funds for the Ladylike Foundation, whose mission is to educate, empower and inspire young girls living in underprivileged communities around the Los Angeles area.

A host of actors, athletes, singers and other celebrities attended the event, including Martin Lawrence, Quincy Brown, Tina Knowles, Debra Lee, Jazz Smollet, Jaleel White, Lori Harvey, Vanessa Simmons and Sean “P Diddy” Combs, who also pledged $100,000 to the organization.

Ten young women received scholarships to further their college education, including Aromni Gumbs, who after sharing a heartening story about travelling to the event on the LA Metro and her experience in the foster system, was surprised by Marjorie Harvey pledging that she and husband Steve Harvey would fund all fours years of Aromni’s college education.

Vanessa Bell Calloway served as the emcee for event, which also featured a hip-hop dance routine and a fashion show where the models included the daughters of several celebrities, including Combs’ daughters D’Lila Star, Jessie James and Chance; Cali Taylor, daughter of The Game; Gigi Johnson, granddaughter of Magic Johnson; Bodhi Brown, daughter of Bobby Brown and Lucky Rose Kyles, daughter of Cedric the Entertainer.

Before the event closed, the audience was treated to a performance from songstress Kelly Price. Chris Spencer was also on hand to perform a live auction that benefited the foundation.
