Jamie Foxx and the cast of his new Netflix sitcom “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!” recently came together for a virtual premiere.
Foxx, Kyla-Drew, David Alan Grier, Porscha Coleman and Jonathan Kite were all smiles at the premiere, which was held the same day the show became available on Netflix (April 14). Corinne Foxx, who serves as an executive producer and is the real-life inspiration for the show, also attended the premiere.
The eight-episode season one follows Brian Dixon (Foxx), a successful business owner and bachelor. Dixon has become the full-time father to his teenage daughter Sasha, played by Kyla-Drew, and needs all the help he can get, including support from his dad (David Alan Grier) and sassy sister Chelsea, played by Porscha Coleman, who was recently seen on HBO’s “Ballers.”
The multi-cam sitcom reunites Foxx with showrunner Bentley Kyle Evans, who he teamed with on “The Jamie Foxx Show.” Industry veteran Ken Whittingham (black-ish, 30 Rock, One on One) directed six episodes in the first season.
“Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!” is now streaming on Netflix.
