(PHOTOS) Lauryn Hill, CeeLo Green Perform; Barbara Streisand and Gisele Bündchen Honored at Hollywood for Science Gala in LA

The world’s current environmental crisis was top of mind recently at the Hollywood for Science Gala in Los Angeles, which honored Barbara Streisand and Gisele Bündchen for their environmental activism.

Held in Bel-Air, the event featured appearances by Ms. Lauryn Hill and CeeLo Green, who both delivered electrifying performances. All proceeds from the black-tie benefit will support UCLA’s Institute of Environment and Sustainability.

Streisand, who was introduced by legendary television producer Norman Lear, said she wondered about the future of the planet given the current environmental crisis. “I recently became a grandma and I can’t help but wonder what kind of planet will be left for my granddaughter…and yours…after unrestrained climate change,” she said.

Bündchen, who was accompanied to the event by her husband NFL quarterback Tom Brady, echoed Streisand’s passion. “We are all in this together,” he said. “We need to find ways to use our unique gifts and collaborate with each other to keep this magical planet rocking, so future generations can continue thriving and enjoying this beautiful planet for a very long time.”

There were a bevy of celebrities at the event, including Gerard Butler, Courteney Cox, Anjelica Huston, Adriana Lima, Laurence Fishburne, Robin Thicke, Andy Garcia, Angela Lindvall, Taylor Hill, Josh Brolin, Donna Karan, Josie Canseco, Rosanna Arquette and Kevin Kwan.
