(PHOTOS) Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Halle Berry, Samuel L. Jackson and More Celebrate Black Excellence at Tyler Perry Studios Grand Opening Gala
In what may have been the power event of the year, Tyler Perry last night held the grand opening gala for Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, which brought out a host of A-list stars and political elite.
Though the studio has been open for a while, Perry finally had the grand opening for the $250 million, 330-acre studio, one of the largest in the country.
Among the stars in attendance included Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Halle Berry, Whoopi Goldberg, Samuel L. Jackson, Spike Lee, Tiffany Haddish, Viola Davis and many more. Also in attendance were Bill and Hillary Clinton, Congressman John Lewis, Andrew Young and many other political figures.
TP Studios will also name its 12 sound stages after several Black actors and actresses that have made a difference, including Winfrey, Lee, Denzel Washington and the late Diahann Carroll.
Perry has been having a milestone month, having received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier in October.
