(PHOTOS) Sylvia Rhone, Jemele Hill, Kenya Barris, Fatima Robinson and More Honored at Culture Creators “Innovators & Leaders” Awards Brunch
Black culture was heavily celebrated recently at the third annual Culture Creators “Innovators & Leaders” Awards Brunch, which honored several accomplished individuals in entertainment and media.
Held during the BET Weekend at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, the event honored some of the most impactful in people in entertainment, including Sylvia Rhone, President of Epic Records, who received the “Icon Award”; sports commentator Jemele Hill, who received the “Defiance Award” and Jana Fleishman, EVP of media & strategic development at Roc Nation, who was honored for her work in public relations.
Kenya Barris, creator of the hit ABC sitcom “Black-ish” and entertainment powerbroker Charles D. King, Founder and CEO of MACRO, were recognized for their accomplishments in the entertainment industry.
The event also featured surprise appearances from R&B singer-songwriter Tank and producer/personality DJ Khaled, who were on hand to speak about the impact Sylvia Rhone has had on their careers.
A number of celebrities, media personalities and influencers were also on hand for the brunch, including Angela Rye, Yandy Smith, Luke James, Waka Flocka, Tammy Rivera, Draya Michele, Keith Robinson, Richard Brooks, Miles Brown, Quality Control’s Coach K, and the event hosts AJ Calloway and Tamika Ray.
