(PHOTOS/VIDEO) Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Host Intimate Listening Session for Upcoming Album

Legendary producing/songwriting duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis recently treated music executives, influencers and journalists to a private listening session for their forthcoming compilation album “Jam & Lewis: Volume One.”

Preceding the listening session was a Q&A session led by famed music journalist/historian Nelson George, who asked the duo a broad series of questions about topics that included their rise to fame, the new album, and about working such artists as Janet Jackson, Boyz II Men and Babyface, who attended the listening session and offered remarks his first encounters with the producing team.

Held at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, guests were able to listen to several songs from the upcoming album in DTS 11.1 sound, which renders more audio. Among the tracks previewed, were songs with several of the duo’s long-time collaborators, including Mary J. Blige, Usher, Charlie Wilson, Boyz II Men and Babyface.

The first single off “Jam & Lewis: Volume One” is the gospel-inspired song “Til I Found You,” featuring Sound of Blackness, who was the first act signed to the duo’s label Perspective Records.

“Jam & Lewis: Volume One” will feature new, original material produced and written by Jam and Lewis. The album is due out later this summer.

A staple in the music industry since 1980s, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have been behind 41 Top 10 Billboard pop songs and 26 No. 1 R&B singles. The duo has worked Prince, the Time, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, New Edition and many others.
