(PHOTOS/VIDEO) ‘Madea Family Funeral’ Cast Reflects on Working with Tyler Perry and More at Gospel Brunch in LA
The cast of Tyler Perry’s “A Madea Family Funeral” recently came together over a gospel brunch in LA to celebrate the home entertainment release of the movie.
Cast members Ciera Payton, KJ Smith, Courtney Burrell and Rome Flynn reunited at the brunch to engage in round-table interviews with the media. The cast opened up about what it was like working with Tyler Perry in his 10th and final film using the Madea character, in addition to discussing how the film has impacted their careers.
Held at Café Fais Do Do, attendees dined on a southern brunch cuisine, including chicken and waffles. They also entertained the gospel-pop group Raise, who performed such songs as “Hallelujah” “Like A Prayer” and “Stand By Me.”
Payton, who plays Silvia in the movie, also shared a few words about the Madea character, which has been staple in Perry’s films since 2005’s “Diary Of A Mad Black Woman.”
Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral is now available as a Blu-ray combo pack (plus DVD and digital), DVD and on demand June 4 from Lionsgate. The release also includes never-before-seen outtakes, deleted scenes, retrospective featurettes, and even Madea’s tips for attending a funeral.”
