Put Some ‘Respect’ On It: Jennifer Hudson, Marlon Wayans, Jordin Sparks, Derek Hough and More Attend Aretha Franklin Biopic Premiere (PHOTOS)
Jennifer Hudson and the cast of the Aretha Franklin biopic “Respect” recently celebrated the movie’s upcoming release at its star-studded premiere in LA.
Held at the Regency Village and Bruin Theatre in Westwood, the premiere brought out Hudson, who attended the event with her 11-year-old son David Otunga Jr., and several members of the movie’s cast, and directors and producers, including director Liesl Tommy, producers Scott Bernstein, Jonathan Glickman, screenwriter Tracey Scott Wilson and more.
Among the cast in attendance at the premiere included Marlon Wayans, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Audra McDonald, Tate Donovan, Lodric D. Collins, Hailey Kilgore, Saycon Sengbloh and Skye Dakota Turner.
“Respect,” releases in theaters everywhere this Friday (August 13) follows the life of Aretha Franklin—from singing in her father’s church choir as a child and to growing up to become an international musical superstar and the “Queen of Soul.”
There were many special guests and celebrities at the event as well, including Debbie Allen, Timbaland, Jennifer Holliday, Dawn Lewis, Michael K. Williams, Tank, Tori Kelly, Anthony Hamilton, Derek Hough, Jordin Sparks, Tinashe and more.
