(PHOTOS/VIDEO) Steve Wonder Celebrates 68th Birthday With “Song Party”, Announces Summer Concert Series
On the heels of his star-studded 68th birthday bash, legendary singer, songwriter and producer Stevie Wonder announced that he’s embarking on a new concert series this summer that will celebrate “life, love and music.”
The “Stevie Wonder Song Party” will be held in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, National Harbor, MD and Springfield, MA in August and September. Fans will receive an experience similar to what guests at his recent birthday party enjoyed, including performances of such hits as “Higher Ground,” “My Cherie Amour,” “I Wish,” “As,” “Superstition” and “Living for the City.”
The “Song Party” concert series builds on the excitement of Wonder’s hit-filled birthday event, which was held at the Peppermint Club in LA. At the party, Wonder performed for more than two hours, capped by an impromptu group performance of his classic “Superstition” with Donald Glover, Luke James, Sheléa, Kelly Rowland and Jessie J.
Wonder’s birthday bash was also attended by such celebrities as T.I., Angela Bassett, Nick Cannon and Jesse Williams. He also hinted at a new album to be called “Through the Eyes of Wonder,” which he says he hopes to release this year.
Tickets for “The Stevie Wonder Song Party: A Celebration of Life, Love & Music,” go on sale Monday, May 21.
