Still Got It! Xscape Reunion Tour Lives Up to the Hype in Miami (PHOTOS/VIDEO)
R&B group Xscape has put all doubt to rest that they can still lead a nation tour by leading the sold-out 22-city Great Xscape reunion tour, which recently rolled into Miami.
Held at American Airlines Arena, the group’s Miami show featured many of the electric performances, personal testimonies and surprise appearances that have been a staple throughout their reunion tour
Xscape –made up of Kandi Burruss, Tamika “Tiny” Harris, and sisters Tamika and LaTocha Scott – reunited last year after disbanding almost two decades ago. The reunion tour has featured the group flawlessly performing many of the songs from their classic albums “Hummin’ Comin’ at Cha,” “Off the Hook,” and “Traces of My Lipstick,” which all were released in the 1990s. Among the fan-favorties the group performed on tour included “Understanding”, “Who Can I Run To” and “Just Kickin’ It”.
Xscape was joined on tour by two powerful female songstresses— Monica and Tamar Braxton, who both delivered strong vocals that wowed crowds. The show also featured several local Miami artists, including Trick Daddy, who performed several of his hit songs.
R&B veteran Monica, who typically attracts a large amount her fans when she performs, delivered on several of her hits, including “Before You Walk Out My Life,” “Don’t Take It Personal,” “For You I Will,” and “Why I Love You So Much.” Monica also performed a tribute to Lauryn Hill, which included her renditions of “Lost Ones” and Killing Me Softly.”
Braxton showed off her strong vocals with performances of several of her recent hits, including “Love and War” and “Sugar”. Braxton also performed songs from her current album “Bluebird of Happiness,” which she says is her best work to date.
“The Great Xscape Tour” recently pulled up to Atlanta, the group’s hometown, for a sold-out New Year’s Eve show. Only two shows remain on the tour, which pulls into Oakland on Jan. 5 and Los Angeles Jan. 6 for the finale.
