(VIDEO INTERVIEW) Lena Waithe Discusses What It Means to Be a “Trailblazer”
Actress, producer and screenwriter Lena Waithe is a trailblazer in the entertainment industry, having become the first African-American woman to win an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series” in 2017 for her work on the Netflix series “Master of None.”
She’s also blazed a path as the creator of the critically acclaimed Showtime series “The Chi,” which is based on her hometown of Chicago.
Human Nature recently caught up with Waithe on the red carpet of the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Award where she was being honored with the “Trailblazer Award.” In the interview, Waithe discussed the significance of the honor. Watch video below.
