(WATCH) Brandon T. Jackson Addresses Recent Controversial Comments, Speaks on Religion, Weight Gain and More
Actor Brandon T. Jackson recently sparked headlines for expressing his regrets for past roles where he played a gay character or wore a dress.
In the now viral interview with Comedy Hype, Jackson said his acting career hit a downturn after appearing in “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son,” where he played Martin Lawrence’s son in the 2011 comedy.
Jackson, who identifies as a Black Hebrew Israelite, also said his career and personal life took a tumble, and that he may have even been” cursed because he played closeted gay actor “Alpa Chino” in the 2008 comedy hit “Tropic Thunder.”
His comments were met with both praise for him speaking his truth, but also with criticism over perceptions that his comments were homophobic.
Human Nature recently caught up with Jackson at the 2019 Revolt Summit in LA. In the interview, he discussed his recent comments, in addition to his thoughts about the entertainment industry, his upcoming movie “Trap City” and Kanye West’s Sunday Service.
