(VIDEO INTERVIEW) Lil Mama, Lance Gross and Tami Roman Open Up About Their Chilling Roles in ‘When Love Kills’

Ever since “When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story” first premiered at the 2017 American Black Film Festival in Miami in June, buzz has been brewing about the movie, which stars rapper/actress Niatia “Lil Mama” Kirkland as Falicia Blakely, who is currently serving a life sentence for murdering three men in 2002.

The film, which marks the directorial debut of actress Tasha Smith, also stars Tami Roman, known to most from VH1’s “Basketball Wives,” and actor Lance Gross from Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne” and Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow.”

In the movie, Falicia, played by Lil Mama, has a treacherous childhood with her mother Stacey, who is played by Tami Roman. This leads Falicia to life as a dancer at a strip club in Atlanta, where she eventually meets local pimp Dino, played by Lance Gross. Ultimately, Falicia turns to a life of crime that eventually turns tragic for those involved.

“When Love Kills,” which also features appearances from Floyd Mayweather, Big Freedia and Lil Zane, premieres on TV One on Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. EST.
